Globe Telecom’s strategy of installing its 5G network in key cities in Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao will provide customers with quality and reliable 5G services.
In July 2021, the company extended its 5G coverage to more than 1,800 key locations across the country, the operator recently announced.
At least 94% of the National Capital Region now has Globe 5G outdoor coverage with Makati and Pateros with 100% coverage. Marikina is second at 99%, followed by Taguig, Mandaluyong and Caloocan, which are at 98% 5G coverage, while San Juan is at 97%.
When it comes to commercial or CBD business districts, Ortigas CBD has the highest 5G coverage with 98%, followed by Makati CBD and BGC CBD now with 98% 5G coverage. In the Visayas, 5G is now accessible in 85% of Cebu city; 77 percent of the island of Boracay; 75 percent of the city of Bacolod and 66 percent of the city of Iloilo.
5G is now also accessible in 77% of Davao City and 80% of Cagayan De Oro City in Mindanao. Efforts are also underway for the construction of seven new 5G cell towers in General Santos City and the installation of four more in Zamboanga City.
