Anti-drug cruise raid: Police verify Prabhakar Sail claims via cell phone towers, CCTV footage, Minister says | Bombay News

MUMBAI: Mumbai Police have launched a low-key investigation to verify the location of cell phone numbers as well as CCTV footage of the locations mentioned in the affidavit filed by Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the drug seizure case cruise ship, said a senior NCP cabinet minister. Sail made serious allegations in his affidavit, including a payment to NCB area manager Sameer Wankhede.
“For now, the police will not go into payment details, but will check if Sail was at the locations mentioned in the affidavit based on the locations of the cell phone towers,” the NCP minister told YOU.
The minister added that from the contents of the affidavit, it appears that Sail visited more than a dozen locations after the October 2 raid at the international cruise terminal.
“CCTV footage from all of these locations will also be reviewed to see if he actually visited those locations. It will also help confirm whether Sail actually met the people he mentioned in his affidavit, ”the Minister said.
The affidavit of Sail, bodyguard of witness in the cruise drug seizure case KP Gosavi, cites a meeting between Shah Rukh’s manager, Pooja Dadlani, Gosavi and Sam D’Souza in the wee hours of October 3 in Lower Parel. The affidavit also mentions a payment of Rs 8 crore to be made to Wankhede.
